This week:  Bon Iver, Paul McCartney, Death Cab, Ani DiFranco and a grab bag of other artists So, I'm not sleeping again.  Good for my productivity - if listening to albums at four in the morning and writing these works at 7am counts as productive - bad for my general focus and energy levels.  In this case, it's not exclusively the general state of the world which is summoning me from my comfortable bed in the early hours, though that's definitely still a factor.  In this case, I think either one or both of Catherine and I are fighting off some kind of low grade summer cold;  nothing major, but it's making Catherine snore like a rusty chainsaw at the moment, and there's really no solving for it.  So for the past few nights, I've been awakened by the miniature grinding wheel taking up residence next to me, which snaps me awake;  and once I am awake, both my body and mind betray me.  My ancient and infirm body tells me that since I am awake, I shoul...

Dashboard! If there was ever any evidence that there's no established plan, no constructed content distribution schedule to this blog, let it be this - because I did a last minute pivot and devoted an entire article to this week to just a single album, this week's wrap up has thirty different albums I need to scoop up into a single post.  So I apologise is this post is interminably long, or if I cover an album with just a passing glance before moving on.  I'm also up against a deadline to get this written and published before getting in the car and driving over to Manchester for my annual Superbowl party with my friend Tom and some of my other regular NFL fantasy friends/bitter rivals. Let's just crack on, shall we?   Dashboard!  Yes, I realised my post title numbering system was flawed, yes I went and retroactively fixed it, no it still probably doesn't make sense to anyone apart from me, I have made my peace with that. One week kind of down then;  certainly most of a week, and if I want to stay sane and run a Monday-Sunday week count, then this is the end of week 0/the start of week one.  As I said at the start, not every album or band I listened to is going to get a braindump blog post dedicated to them, some might just get a few words of explanation and we will move on.  I have a lengthier post in the chamber but I am saving that until next week. So, at the end of week zero, here's where the leaderboard stands:- I've listened to 24 albums in 5 days;  at this pace, Ian Wang will have been handily disposed of by August and I could really push myself and try and lap him and get to 2,000 as a flex.  I think we all know this rate isn't sustainable though.  Nic...
